Structures in Science

A collaborative initiative between the Buffalo Public Schools, the University at Buffalo and Buffalo Museum of Science

Structures in Science provided a unique summer learning opportunity for middle school girls from the Charles R. Drew Magnet School.  This program took place  in the afternoon following BPS Extended Learning Opportunity Program. Over 30 middle school aged girls in 7th and 8th grade were given the opportunity to learn about science and math through curricula, hands-on activities, and student presentations. In addition to engaging girls in scientific inquiry, additional objectives of the program included exposing girls to career paths in the STEM fields as well as showing them that science and math is fun.
